Dershowitz: Hillary Won Debate, Biden Won't Run

Hillary Clinton was the clear winner of Tuesday's Democratic presidential debate and that will keep Vice President Joe Biden out of the race, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz tells Newsmax TV.

The most important viewer of the debate was Biden himself, Dershowitz said on Newsmax TV's post debate coverage.

"I think he was sitting there watching this debate and deciding whether or not he can enter the primaries and actually win," Dershowitz said. "I think if I'm his adviser, I'm watching that debate and I say to him, 'I don't think so; I think Hillary did well. She wasn't destroyed, and you would just be a spoiler.'"

Overall, the debate was superior to the two Republican debates, he said, because the candidates focused on issues rather than attacking each other.

"That debate made me really understand why I'm a Democrat," Dershowitz said. "It was a much higher-level debate. And I think the winner of the debate was the Democratic Party, and I also think that Hillary Clinton did great and that anybody who expected that she would be somehow wounded by this were wrong. Sanders did great, but he can't carry a single state."
