"God willing," the online health insurance marketplace that has been plagued with troubles since it was unveiled Oct. 1 will be fixed by the November deadline, Vice President Joe Biden says.

"The truth is, we're going to fix it," Biden said of the HealthCare.gov website while speaking at the port of Houston, according to a White House pool report. "God willing," he added later, The Hill reported.

Biden, who has a vested interest as a possible 2016 presidential candidate in making sure the Obamacare program improves steadily, met with about 50 volunteers who are working to help enroll people in health insurance plans under the new law, Politico reported.

Biden said in late October that the Obama administration was surprised by the website problems that came to light once HealthCare.gov was launched.

"We assumed that it was up and ready to run," he said. "But the good news is, although it's not — and we apologize for that — we are confident by the end of November it'll be, and there'll still be plenty of time for people to register and get online."
