Jeb Bush has come on strong in the final days leading up to Tuesday's New Hampshire primary, a new
Emerson College poll released Monday evening shows.
The poll says front-runner Donald Trump will win the GOP race, with 31 percent of likely Republican voters in the Granite State, but Bush surged to second with 16 percent during the Thursday-Sunday polling period — and captured as much 19 percent on one of the survey's days, which included 686 registered likely primary voters.
Here's the poll breakdown:
- Donald Trump, 31 percent
- Jeb Bush, 16 percent
- John Kasich, 13 percent
- Marco Rubio, 12 percent
- Ted Cruz, 11 percent
Emerson found that on the Democrat side, Bernie Sanders maintains a 12-point lead over Hillary Clinton, 54 percent-42 percent, based on responses from 783 registered likely primary voters.
The GOP results have a margin of error of 3.7 points, while the Democrat contest's margin is 3.4 points.
