Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry paid his fellow presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina, a compliment at the early GOP Fox News debate on Thursday — though, perhaps, it was a backhanded one.
Discussing the Iran nuclear deal, Perry said, "I will tell you one thing, I would a whole lot rather have Carly Fiorina over there doing our negotiation than John Kerry. Maybe we would have gotten a deal where we didn't give everything away."
That sounded like a compliment, but could have been taken as a statement that Fiorina would make a better secretary of state than a president.

The question is, how did Fiorina take it?
She didn't address the statement when she spoke next, but a shot of her in split screen when Perry made the remark showed her facial response.
She wasn't smiling.
