CBS Poll: Nearly 50 Percent Think Clinton Defeated Trump in Debate

Nearly 50 percent of the voters in 13 battleground states said Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in the final presidential debate Wednesday night, according to a CBS News poll.

The results:

  • Clinton: 49 percent;
  • Trump: 39 percent;
  • Tie: 12 percent.

The breakdown of those who say they watched the debate, according to the poll:

  • Democrats: 35 percent;
  • Republicans: 28 percent;
  • Independents: 35 percent.

While nearly all Clinton supporters surveyed said the candidates should pledge to accept the election results, the reaction was mixed from Trump supporters:

  • Should accept results: 33 percent;
  • Should not make pledge to accept results: 36 percent;
  • No opinion: 30 percent.
