Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump looks more like a leader than President Barack Obama did early in his campaign, MSNBC host Chris Matthews said.
Trump is essentially building "Team Trump" or a "Trump Party," Matthews said Tuesday on MSNBC's
"Hardball."
"I think it shows him a leader," Matthews said of Trump bringing former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin into his fold.
If you want to know if someone's a leader, you look behind him to see if anyone is following, Matthews said. "That was the problem with Obama for a long time. Nobody back there."
Trump, on the other hand, "looks like he's building a force in the party," Matthews said. "Even Ted Cruz seems to be hobbling along behind him."
