Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump declared himself the winner of the third GOP debate Thursday and said that the exchange between Floridians Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio reflected "a lot of hatred between those two."
"Remember what I said about Jeb, and remember what I said about Rubio?" Trump asked cheering supporters at a rally at the Nugget Casino in Sparks, Nevada, just east of Reno.
Trump's comments were
reported by CNN.
"Everyone said, 'oh, no, you're wrong, Mr. Trump.' I get no credit for this stuff," he said.
"I said they don't like each other. And people forget that last night, the heat came out," he added. "A lot of anger, a lot of hatred between those two."
In the CNBC debate at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Bush attacked Rubio for missing as many as 99 votes on the Senate floor because he was on the presidential campaign.
"When you signed up for this, this is a six-year term," the former governor said to the current first-term senator. "You should be showing up.
"Is it a French work week? You get three days to show up?" Bush asked. "
Just resign and let somebody else take the job. There are a lot of people who are living paycheck to paycheck in Florida."
Rubio, who considers Bush a mentor, countered that the remark came only because the two are seeking the same office.
"Someone convinced you [that] attacking me is going to help you," Rubio said.
Regarding the overall debate, Trump declared to thunderous applause: "Yeah, we did well. Everybody. I think there were a few people that really did well last night."
During the rally, Trump responded of a voter's question by saying that medical marijuana should be legal but that the states should decide whether to legalize recreational use, CNN reports.
Trump also attacked President Barack Obama for his handling of Israel with the Iran nuclear deal.
"They have a president whom they actually think Obama hates Israel," Trump said, according to CNN. "I think he does."
"This pact is so bad for Israel, so dangerous," he added. "We will save Israel."
"Honestly, I think Israel is in a massive amount of trouble because of the agreement."
