Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has adopted a phrase he slammed former opponent Jeb Bush for using.

Trump mocked Jeb Bush's slogan "Jeb can fix it" in a November 2015 tweet.

Trump used the term in his attacks on Bush, and The Hill included it on a list of reasons Bush's presidential campaign failed.

Then Trump used the phrase in support of African-Americans in a tweet Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016.

Trump has been reaching out to minority voters. During a speech in Charlotte, N.C., he said, "If African-Americans give Donald Trump a chance by giving me their vote, the result for them will be amazing."

Trump added, "What do you have to lose by trying something new? I will fix it."

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said he believes Trump is using more than a phrase from Jeb Bush: Trump has adopted Bush's idea to work with immigrants instead of deporting them.

Scarborough noted Trump called for insisting immigrants pay back taxes, a policy Bush supported.

"Jeb Bush, your immigration stand has prevailed in the Republican Party," Scarborough said.
