"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart is "begging" him to appear on his final episode August 6, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tells The Hill.

"They have invited me," Trump said. "I like Jon Stewart — I think he’s good. They’re begging me to go on."

The liberal Stewart is ending a 16-year run hosting the show that offers a comedic take on the news.

On a recent show, Stewart said, "Thank you Donald Trump for making my last six weeks... my best six weeks. He's putting me in some sort of comedy hospice where all I'm getting is straight morphine."

Trump said he would do the show, but "it looks like pandering. It looks so false and so phony if I do it."

President Barack Obama was on Tuesday's episode for his seventh appearance. Trump said he had no problem with Obama appearing on the show.

"I know he took a lot of heat, you know, because they said, 'What are you doing on a comedy show?'" Trump said. "I think it's OK."
