Trump on Supreme Court Appointment: 'Delay, Delay, Delay'

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump said at Saturday's presidential debate that the Senate should delay the confirmation of a Supreme Court justice to replace Antonin Scalia until the next president is in office.

Scalia's death was announced
earlier Saturday.

Still, Trump admitted if he were president and were in his last year in office he would try to appoint a conservative. President Barack Obama is certain to do the same and nominate someone, Trump said, though obviously not with a conservative.

"I hope that our Senate … is going to be able to do something about it," he said.

When moderator John Dickerson asked whether that means Trump is OK with Obama making an appointment, Trump said, "I think he is going to do it whether I'm OK with it or not. It's up to [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell and everybody else to stop it. It's called delay, delay, delay."
