Donald Trump squared off with Fox News host Megyn Kelly during the Republican presidential debate Thursday night over his previous comments about women — admitting that he has slammed "only Rosie O'Donnell."

" … You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals … " Kelly said before Trump mentioned O'Donnell.

Kelly then responded, "no, it wasn't," referring to social media posts attacking women and asking whether it reflected the proper temperament of a president.

Trump responded that "the big problem this country has is being politically correct," drawing applause from the audience. "I've been challenged by so many people — and I don't frankly have time for total political correctness.

"This country doesn't have time either. This country is in big trouble. We don't win anymore. We lose to China and Mexico in trade at the border. We lose to everybody.

"Frankly, what I say — and oftentimes — it's fun, kidding. We have a good time."

He added that "what I say is what I say," before adding that he would not slam women who opposed him.

"I wouldn't do that," Trump said. "But you know what? We, we need strength, we need energy, we need quickness and we need brains in this country to turn it around."
