Early voting returns reveal more than 455,000 Americans cast their ballots before both the release of a tape in which Donald Trump boasts of sexually manhandling women and his second presidential debate with Hillary Clinton.
CNN reports those votes come from some 27 states where early data has been made available.
In polls, nine of those states showed a tight race between Trump and Clinton that will be "critical" to the outcome of the election, according to CNN.
Those states are Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Colorado, Wisconsin and Virginia.
In polls conducted since last Friday's bombshell Washington Post story detailing Trump's crude and obscene quips to TV's Billy Bush, Clinton's numbers have taken a dramatic upswing.
