Eric Trump on Debate: My Father Did an 'Excellent Job'

Donald Trump's son, Eric Trump, said he was proud of his father's performance in the presidential debate against Hillary Clinton, telling Fox News' "Fox & Friends" that "what people saw was the difference between a totally scripted candidate versus somebody who speaks from the heart and speaks off the vest."

Eric Trump emphasized that's "the difference between a politician and somebody who's been in business their entire life, who's created tens and tens of thousands of jobs . . . Hillary signs the back of a check her entire life. She's never created one job."

When asked what moment stuck out the most in the debate, Eric Trump said, "I think when he was comparing taxes. We want to put people back to work in this country. Hillary is talking about raising taxes on everybody. My father wants to reduce taxes across the board."

Trump's son also accused Clinton of focusing on the negative.

"She's spending three quarters of a billion dollars in negative ads. Not one of these ads talks about her accomplishments being a politician for 35 years. We have bombs going off in New York and New Jersey and stabbings in Minnesota.

"We have ISIS on the rise, the Middle East is a hornet's nest and she just runs negative ads about my father. She hasn't fixed any of the problems. It's very, very sad. We need better leadership than that," he added.

Eric Trump said he was confident that his father would win the election.

"You see the polls . . . We're leading in states that have never been won by a Republican. We're leading in Colorado, Nevada. He's redefined the map in the United States. He stayed cool tonight and as a son, I was proud of him. He just did an excellent job."
