The Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign are both covering up a "giant criminal enterprise," Newt Gingrich said Monday night.

"This is a giant criminal enterprise disguised as a foundation and disguised as a campaign," the former House speaker told Fox News' Sean Hannity, pointing to a Center for Public Integrity report that showed 96 percent of donations from reporters, writers, anchors and others working in journalism went to the Clinton campaign, instead of her GOP rival Donald Trump.

The report also showed that from those professions, $382,000 went to Clinton, while only $14,000 went to Trump.

The media dedicated more time to a 2005 tape of Trump making lewd comments about women than they did to the information in the Clinton campaign emails hacked by WikiLeaks, Gingrich added.

The "elite media" is focused on pro-Clinton propaganda "because these people aren't engaged in news.

"They are methodical propagandists for the left, smothering negative information about Hillary and maximizing negative information about Trump in a way that is a huge disservice to the United States of America and to the people of the United States," Gingrich said.

The former House speaker also slammed the media during an ABC News interview, saying, "Without the unending one-sided assault of the news media, Trump would be beating Hillary by 15 points."

Defeating Clinton is of vital interest to the country, Gingrich said during an interview "Fox & Friends" last week. If Clinton wins, she will be "the most corrupt, most dishonest person ever to occupy the presidency."
