GOP nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton remain in a dead heat for the fourth straight day in the

Investor's Business Daily/TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence (IBD/TIPP) presidential tracking poll as the final countdown for the general election approaches.

Despite the ongoing revelations about the FBI's investigations into Clinton's email server and a potential "play-for-play" scandal involving the Clinton Foundation, Clinton still scored higher than Trump in a two-way matchup.

In a four-way race:

  • Clinton, Trump: 44 percent each;
  • Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 5 percent.
  • Green Party nominee Jill Stein: 2 percent.

Head-to-head:

  • Clinton: 46 percent.
  • Trump: 43.4 percent.

One day earlier, Clinton was at 45 percent to Trump's 43.8 percent, and patterns are emerging in the tracking poll.

Trump leads among voters over the age of 45 and with voters earning more than $50,000 a year, while Clinton leads among voters aged 18-44.

Meanwhile, the numbers of men and women supporting the candidates are mirror images, as men prefer Trump by 48 to 40 percent, while women prefer Clinton by the same numbers.

The tracking poll, conducted of 804 likely voters, shows a weighted response from 287 Democrats, 257 Republicans and 215 Independent and other voters, and carries a margin of error of +/-3.5 percentage points. The results come from the latest four days of polling.

Meanwhile, Clinton has a slim 46.6 percent to 44.8 percent lead over Trump in RealClear Politics overall averaging, giving her a 1.8 percentage point advantage.
