Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said Democratic rival Hillary Clinton suffers from the neurological condition dysphasia, which impairs the ability to communicate and understand speech.

Pierson noted video clips of Clinton and pointed out "her dysphasia" and the fact that she's fallen and has had a concussion, according to The Daily Beast.

Pierson's claim during an appearance on MSBNC with host Kristen Welker.

"Observations of Hillary Clinton's behavior and mannerisms" have led to speculation about her health, said Pierson. NPR reports some of those observations about Clinton's health, including Trump saying, "She also lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on ISIS and all of the many adversaries we face."

During the MSNBC interview, Welker read a statement from Clinton's doctor Lisa Bardack, which said, "As Hillary Clinton's longtime physician, I released a medical statement during the campaign, indicating that she is in excellent health. I have recently been made aware of allegedly leaked documents regarding Secretary Clinton with my name on them. These documents are false, were not written by me and are not based on any medical facts."

Bardack's statement concluded by saying that Clinton is "in excellent health and fit to serve as President of the United States."

Pierson said that Trump was not talking about Clinton's health record. He was talking about "specific observations." Then she noted that Clinton has not held a press conference in 2016, and called on her to hold one and address those questions.

Trump's spokeswoman has made a number of statements that the media has called into question.

According to New York Magazine, in previous interviews, Pierson blamed President Barack Obama for the death of U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, which occurred in 2004, when Obama was a senator.

CNN reported that Pierson said Obama started the war in Afghanistan, although it began in 2001 under President George W. Bush.

Clinton's communication director Jennifer Palmieri has slammed discussion about Clinton's health, saying, "While it's dismaying to see the Republican nominee for president push deranged conspiracy theories, it's no longer surprising."

The Democratic presidential nominee has said she is healthy. During a podcast interview she said, "I, knock on wood, am pretty lucky because I have a lot of stamina and endurance."
