Donald Trump is ahead of Hillary Clinton by 5 points according to the latest USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times tracking poll released Friday.
The results:
- Trump: 47.3 percent;
- Clinton: 41.7 percent.
Breaking down the results by age:
Voters 18-34:
- Trump: 45 percent;
- Clinton: 37.5 percent.
Voters 35-64:
- Trump: 47.1 percent;
- Clinton: 43.2 percent.
Voters 65 and up:
- Trump: 50.3 percent;
- Clinton: 43.6 percent.
Breaking down the results by education:
High school or less:
- Trump: 55.3 percent;
- Clinton: 35 percent.
Some college:
- Trump: 49.9 percent;
- Clinton: 38.6 percent.
College graduates and up:
- Clinton: 51.6 percent;
- Trump 36.4 percent.
By race and ethnicity, Trump leads among whites and others who don't identify as black or Latino, but Clinton leads among African-American and Latino voters.
Whites:
- Trump 55.5 percent;
- Clinton: 33.4 percent.
Blacks:
- Clinton: 73.1 percent;
- Trump: 16.9 percent.
Latinos:
- Clinton: 54.5 percent;
- Trump: 33.8 percent.
Other:
- Trump: 50.1 percent;
- Clinton: 39 percent.
By gender, Trump's support among men has been "fairly steady," according to the poll.
Males:
- Trump: 54.7 percent;
- Clinton: 35.3 percent.
Females:
- Clinton: 48 percent;
- Trump 40 percent.
The poll is a weighted average of responses from about 3,000 voters.
RealClearPolitics included the LA Times poll in its average of several major surveys, and found Clinton ahead by 2.9 points overall.
