The Republican Party needs to pick a candidate to compete against Donald Trump in order to stop the projected winner of the New Hampshire presidential primary, political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"I'm not surprised by the reaction," Reagan told host J.D. Hayworth on the "Newsmax TV 2016 New Hampshire Primary Special" in an interview. "I'm more surprised by what's going on in New Hampshire tonight."

"Everybody's talking about these different lanes," he added. "There's really two lanes: there's a Trump lane and everyone else.

"Everyone else better find who's going to run that lane against Donald Trump if indeed they want to wrestle away the nomination of the Republican Party," he said.
