Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee criticized Sen. Ted Cruz, one of his rivals for the GOP presidential nomination, on Wednesday, saying the Texan was wrong to hold a fundraiser in the home of a gay couple in New York.

Huckabee tweeted a link to a New York Times article from April which noted that Cruz toned down his conservative message to the group, saying that he wouldn't love his daughters less if they were gay and that he believes same-sex marriage is an issue left to the states.
"I'll never play political games with my faith," Huckabee said in the tweet. "We shouldn't say one thing for votes, and another for NYC money.

Cruz has most recently attacked front-runner Donald Trump for having "New York values."

Huckabee continued tweeting about the issue, using a hashtag for the upcoming Iowa caucuses, #IACaucus.
