The ISIS-loving suspected terrorist who killed eight people in a truck attack near New York's 9/11 memorial was so enamored of the jihadists – and proud of the rampage – he wanted to mount an ISIS flag in his hospital room, according to a criminal complaint.

Sayfullo Saipov even considered flying the flag on the truck he used in the Halloween attack — a date he picked because he figured more people would be on the streets, according to the federal complaint filed Wednesday, USA Today reported.

The stunning details came from a Bellevue Hospital bedside interview with the suspect, who was shot in the abdomen by a police officer at the scene, USA Today reported.

Saipov, 29, from Uzbekistan, "planned to use the truck to strike pedestrians in the vicinity of the West Side Highway and then proceed to the Brooklyn Bridge to continue to strike pedestrians," the complaint charges, USA Today reported.

He "wanted to kill as many people as he could" and "stated that he felt good about what he had done."

Other details included that:

  • He rented a truck from Home Depot in Passaic, N.J., on Oct. 22 so he could practice making turns.
  • He decided not to display an ISIS flag on the truck to avoid detection.
  • He was "inspired" to carry out the assault by ISIS videos he watched on his cellphone — which had about 90 videos along with 3,800 images that appeared to be "ISIS-related propaganda."
