New York GOP Rep. Peter King condemned the twin bombing
attacks in Brussels on Tuesday and called for the United States to stand with Belgium against radical Islamic terrorists in "a battle for civilization."
King, a member of the Homeland Security Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence said the latest attacks were "just another demonstration of just how real and deadly Islamist terrorists truly are."
"We must stand with Belgium and also do all we can to defend our nation from ISIS, al-Qaida and all elements of Islamist terrorism," he said in a statement. "This is a battle for civilization."
King also took to Twitter to condemn the "vicious barbarism of Islamist terrorism."
