Republican Congressman Peter King, a Trump supporter, told CNN Saturday that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has no one to blame but herself for the recent announcement by the FBI that it is investigating additional e-mails relevant to her e-mail case.
"I think the American voters should know whatever they can know so long as it does not interfere with the (FBI’s) criminal investigation," he said on "CNN Newsroom with Poppy Harlow."
"This is all Hillary Clinton's doing. If she had made those e-mails known herself, she wouldn't be in this position now. She has no one to blame but herself."
FBI Director James Comey on Friday said that his agency was obtaining and reviewing additional e-mails in Clinton's case following a bizarre twist when new e-mails relating to the investigation were discovered on a computer belonging to Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin.
Weiner is being investigated for sending illicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. Comey received some serious backlash for releasing the news 11 days ahead of the presidential election.
King told CNN he didn’t think the timing mattered.
"Jim Comey understands the ramifications of what he is doing," said King. "There has to be something there that he thinks is important enough that it should be made known to the committee chairman and the American public."
