Zogby Poll: Trump Widens National Lead By 25 Points

Donald Trump has widened his national lead to 25 points among Republicans over his closet rival for the presidential nomination, Ben Carson, a new Zogby poll showed on Wednesday.

Here are the results of the survey of 271 voters:
  • Trump: 38 percent.
  • Carson: 13 percent.
  • Marco Rubio: 12 percent.
  • Ted Cruz: 8 percent.
  • Jeb Bush: 7 percent.
  • Chris Christie: 4 percent.
  • Carly Fiorina: 3 percent.
The remaining eight candidates: Less than 1 percent each.

Trump's finish was the highest for a Zogby poll, which was conducted after the developer's call for banning all Muslims from entering the United States until terrorism issues are fully addressed and the vetting system greatly improved.

In other results, among self-identifying Republicans:
  • Trump: 33 percent.
  • Rubio: 16 percent.
  • Carson: 12 percent.
  • Bush: 8 percent.
  • Cruz: 6 percent.
Among independents:
  • Trump: 56 percent.
  • Carson: 15 percent.
  • Cruz: 9 percent.
Among conservatives:
  • Trump: 34 percent.
  • Carson: 14 percent.
  • Rubio: 12 percent.
  • Cruz: 10 percent.
  • Bush: 7 percent.
Among moderates:
  • Trump: 44 percent.
  • Carson: 13 percent.
  • Rubio: 9 percent.
  • Bush: 6 percent.
Among men:
  • Trump: 43 percent.
  • Carson: 17 percent.
  • Rubio: 15 percent.
  • Cruz: 11 percent.
Among women:
  • Trump: 32 percent.
  • Carson: 15 percent.
  • Rubio: 9 percent.
  • Bush: 8 percent.
The Zogby poll has a margin of error of 6 percent.
