Amid rising tensions with North Korea over their nuclear weapons program, South Korean President Moon Jae In has requested a phone call with President Donald Trump, The Hill reported Sunday.

The phone call request was reported by the White House press pool and follows Saturday's unanimous vote by the United Nations Security Council to increase sanctions on North Korea for their recent missile testing.

Trump is on the second day of what he has called a working vacation, spending the 17-day break from the White House at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

On Sunday evening, Trump tweeted he had talked with the South Korean president, posting, "Just completed call with President Moon of South Korea. Very happy and impressed with 15-0 United Nations vote on North Korea sanctions."
