Donald Trump's campaign missteps and a staff shakeup are sending up "red flags" even as Hillary Clinton's poll numbers are rising, according to one polling expert.
In an interview to air Sunday on John Catsimatidis' radio show, "The Cats Roundtable,"
Quinnipiac University poll's assistant director, Tim Malloy, said "missteps" by the GOP nominee have only helped his Democratic rival.
"Her numbers have been gradually going up," he said, according to excerpts of the remarks posted ahead of the show by The Hill.
"There's been a lot of missteps by Trump that have helped her, but she's been moving up in the polls."
"There's something significant going on — this shuffling of campaign staff with Trump," he added. "There are red flags with the Trump campaign right now, there's no doubt about that."
Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort resigned earlier this month after a new campaign manager and chief executive were added.
Clinton leads Trump by 6 percentage points nationally, according to a RealClearPolitics polling average.
Quinnipiac recently showed Clinton with a 10-point lead over the GOP nominee.
