During last night's Republican debate in Houston, hosted by CNN, Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, took to Twitter and continued to rip front-runner Donald Trump for not publicly releasing his tax returns.

Romney tweeted:

He added:

Trump, however, shot back at Romney by calling him "a fool" for how he handled his own White House run in 2012 and added that he cannot release his tax returns while he is under audit.

"Obviously if I'm getting audited, I'm not going to release a return," the real estate mogul said. "I think people understand that. As soon as the audit is done, I love it."

Romney on Wednesday, called on all candidates to release their past taxes, and added that he thinks there's a "bombshell" in Trump's returns.
