Republican Senate Campaign Wing Cuts Fundraising Tie With Moore

Roy Moore has lost the financial support of the National Republican Senate Committee, The Daily Beast reports.

The Alabama 2017 Senate Victory Committee, a joint fundraising committee that includes the Republican National Committee and the Alabama Republican Party, filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission that omits the NRSC as one of its beneficiaries.

The move follows a report from The Washington Post that alleges Moore sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and made sexual overtones to multiple other teenage girls when he was in his 30s. Moore has denied these claims.

NRSC Chairman Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado described the accusations against Moore as "deeply troubling," in a statement and said, "if these allegations are found to be true, Roy Moore must drop out of the Alabama special Senate election," according to CBS News.
