Sen. Marco Rubio capitalized on the momentum from his second-place finish in the South Carolina GOP presidential primary with a jam-packed rally hours afterward in Tennessee to begin his push for Super Tuesday voting March 1.
Reports say at least 3,500 showed up for the rally in Franklin, Tenn., Sunday to hear the Florida lawmaker.
"The question is, how many of those people can we get to be on our side, and that's my job, to go out there every day and convince people that we're the right choice for our party," Rubio told reporters before the event,
The Tennessean reports.
"If I'm nominated, I will unite the Republican Party. We will grow it, and we will win."
The event was supposed to have been held inside the Embassy Suites to accommodate an expected crowd of 1,000, but was moved to an outside parking lot when over 4,000 RSVPs were received,

According to
Nashville Public Radio, GOP front-runner Donald Trump has topped recent polls in the state, and rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has a big campaign operation in the state.
Early voting has already begun, the radio station reports.
