In a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Donald Trump repeated statements in which he called President Barack Obama the founder of ISIS, and Hillary Clinton the co-founder.

"With his bad policies, that's why ISIS came about," Trump told Hewitt.

The Republican presidential nominee first said Obama founded ISIS when he spoke at a Fort Lauderdale, Florida rally. "He's the founder of ISIS, OK? He's the founder! He founded ISIS. And I would say, the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton."

Trump made the comments again during an appearance on CNBC. He said Obama and Clinton "get the Most Valuable Player award" for actions that led to the founding of ISIS.

Hewitt countered Trump's statement, saying, "But he's not sympathetic to them. He hates them. He's trying to kill them."

"I don't care," Trump said. "He was the founder. The way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS."

Hewitt agreed with Trump's statement, saying, "You don't get any argument from me," but asked the Republican presidential candidate if he thought his statements were a mistake.

"No, it's no mistake," he said. "Everyone's liking it. I think they're liking it," referring to his supporters.

Trump elaborated on his statement, saying, "If he would have done things properly, you wouldn't have had ISIS. Therefore, he was the founder of ISIS."
