Donald Trump holds a commanding lead among Republicans in Massachusetts — and the results of the Suffolk University poll released Saturday show that the front-runner could win the Bay State's GOP primary on Tuesday by his biggest margin yet.

Trump's lead more than doubles that of his closest rival, Marco Rubio, with John Kasich finishing not far behind.

The poll, conducted with The Boston Globe, involved 500 likely Republican voters and was conducted between Wednesday and Friday.

Here are the results:
  • Trump: 43 percent.
  • Rubio: 20 percent.
  • John Kasich: 17 percent.
  • Ted Cruz: 9 percent.
  • Ben Carson: 4 percent.

"He's got a unique blend of strength, leadership, independence, and anti-Washington that's resonating among Republican primary voters in Massachusetts — and it's different than in other states, because Cruz is not a factor," Suffolk University pollster David Paleologos said of Trump. "The end result is you've got this big lead, this big landslide lead."

The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.
