Poll: Cruz, Kasich Voters Prefer Trump as Second Choice

A Quinnipiac national pollreleased Wednesday found good news for Donald Trump: supporters of Republican rivals John Kasich and Ted Cruz would prefer him if their candidate dropped out of the race.

Among Kasich's supporters, 46 percent cited Trump as their second choice; 37 percent cited Cruz.

Among Cruz's supporters, 56 percent cited Trump as their second choice; 25 percent cited Kasich.

Overall, in the three-way race, Trump led with 43 percent, ahead of Cruz's 29 percent and Kasich's 16 percent.
