Donald Trump said on Twitter Tuesday night that a Associated Press report that he plans to visit the majority-Muslim kingdom of Jordan at the end of December is false.

The report came one day after Trump's controversial proposal to temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the United States to protect the nation from Islamic terrorism.

The Associated Press report said Trump's visit to Jordan would take place during his trip to Israel, which he previously disclosed during an interview last week with the AP. Trump confirmed the Israel trip on Twitter.

Trump's campaign did not immediately respond to the AP questions about the Jordan trip. But later denied the report on his Twitter account.

The AP reported that the government was making preparations based on Trump's plans. Trump has Secret Service protection for his safety.
