Republican candidate Donald Trump has released a video in which he praises Mother Teresa for her canonization by Pope Francis.
In the 40-second video, Trump recalls Mother Teresa's "amazing life of charity and holiness," in which she "gave food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and education to the needy."
Saying that there was no one like her, Trump said, "She represented the best in each of us. I’m truly happy to see Catholics across the world join together to celebrate Mother Teresa's uniquely humble, generous and pious life."
Tens of thousands of Roman Catholics gathered Sunday for the canonization ceremony in Vatican City, USA Today reported.
The ceremony was also attended by 13 heads of state or government. Mother Teresa, who won a Nobel Prize in 1979 for her charity work, is now to be called Saint Teresa of Kolkata.
