Question: I understand that mushrooms are very high in glutamates. Do you think the cancer-lessening properties of mushrooms outweigh their glutamate dangers?

Dr. Blaylock's Answer:

It is true that mushrooms are very high in glutamate. However, most mushroom extracts are purified components, and should not have high levels of glutamate.

These components powerfully stimulate the immune system and are useful in cancer treatment. Many are what we call beta-glucans, which can be purified.
