Fox News correspondent Dr. Mehmet Oz issued a prescription for calm during an interview Thursday on “Fox & Friends.” He warned that panic attacks can be devastating to your health, according to Fox News.

“It is a physical problem. It’s not just in your head, your whole body — the rapid palpitations, the sweating, the feeling the world is closing in around you. These symptoms can cause all kinds of detrimental effects.”

Oz added that people are becoming overly concerned about symptoms.

“Oftentimes they think they have coronavirus because they are so anxious about it. Every small little symptom, you know. They don’t smell as well this morning as they did yesterday,” said. “They think they have it.”

He said that the medical community is worried that the nation’s panic may be worse than the actual outbreak.

“If we can sort of balance that out — for the first few months, we were saying guys wake up this is a problem. Now the medical community is saying ‘let’s step back for a second. You are going to be fine.’ If you’re under the age of 20, we don’t have a death yet. There are very few above that until you get into the ‘50’s.”

Oz assured viewers that this a “pretty safe virus for the majority of Americans” and warned that panicking will distract from the calmness needed.
