A weekly injection of Botox into trigger points on the neck and scalp can reduce the number of migraine headaches in many who suffer chronic migraines, defined as more than 15 migraines each month.

The study done at the University of Grenada found that Botox slashed the number of migraines in half for 1 in 5 patients. Another third enjoyed a significant reduction.

Researchers theorize that Botox may work by thwarting the transmission of pain signals to the brain.
