Senate candidate Charlie Crist better hope his pitch to Florida voters goes better than his first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays-Texas Rangers playoff game Thursday. The former Wake Forest University quarterback and current Florida governor threw wild – high and to the right, Politico reports.

And how did the sellout crowd of 35,535 at St. Petersburg’s Tropicana Field respond? “Ohhhhhhhhhhh.”

And how did Crist respond? He “threw up his arms in disgust, or perhaps disbelief, after throwing the ball away,” Politico reports.

Crist may be throwing up his arms a month from now too. The Republican turned independent trails Republican Marco Rubio in the polls.
