Cantor: GOP Wants to Keep Parts of Obamacare

While Republicans seek to roll back the onerous provisions of Obamacare, they aren’t looking to ditch all of it, says incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. He says certain sections of the new law will be included in the GOP’s own healthcare plan, which the House will consider concurrently with a repeal measure, The Hill reports.

Among the parts that Republicans want to keep are provisions preventing insurance companies from refusing coverage to patients with pre-existing conditions and permitting children to stay on their parents' insurance plans until age 26.

“We've taken the positions that preserve what's good about our system without bankrupting the country," Cantor said in a town hall event at American University in Washington, D.C.
