Gingrich Video: 'Stand Up For Freedom'

Newt Gingrich's campaign released an inspirational video Monday that shows George Washington's crossing the Delware on Christmas Day 1776 for what seemed an insurmountable fight against the Hessians in Trenton, N.J., and ends with a nod to supporters to rally behind the former speaker and "stand up for freedom."

Titled "Victory or Death," the 3-plus-minute ad clearly highlights Gingrich's passion for history and ties what seemed an inplausible revolutionary battle to his fight to win the Republican nomination.

The password for that night was "victory or death," Gingrich says of the soldiers who joined Washington that night. "And they meant it. They were prepared to give everything for freedom. Surely in the most successful country in history we can do what is necessary ... we can go out and get the vote out, make the argument, stand up for freedom."
