Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who persistently has declined entreaties from his fellow Republicans to toss his hat in the ring for 2012, says there’s one Florida Republican that he could envision on a national ticket: Sen.-elect Marco Rubio.
“You know, I love Marco,” Bush told Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview on Monday. “I’ve seen him grow up, he ran an incredible campaign, he’s just been a spectacular leader and candidate. He deserves all the attention he’s getting on the national stage.”
Bush flat out declared however that Rubio is “a star.”

So does that mean Rubio could fill the No. 2 slot for the GOP ticket in 2012? Newsmax asked.
“It may be too early in 2012, but you never know,” Bush said. “He could easily be a great addition to certain candidates. He’s proven that you can be a conservative and draw people towards your cause. He did that as a candidate.
“And he’s the most eloquent spokesman for American exceptionalism,” Bush continued, “which is the way we lift our cloud of pessimism that’s on top of our country right now, is to remind ourselves of our latent greatness, that only matters if we turn it into action. So there’s no finer speaker on that than Marco Rubio.”
Bush added, however, that “I worry that all this adulation is premature. And he knows that. I mean . . . it hasn’t gone to his head. He’s a pretty humble guy.”
