Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says terrorists may attack again on U.S. soil. The Obama administration will do everything it can to keep this possibility from coming true, she said in the text of a speech to be delivered today. The speech, presented to emergency workers and first responders, commemorates the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

“[W]e can’t guarantee there won’t be another successful terrorist attack,” Napolitano said, according to Politico.

“The threats we face are evolving, and enemies like al Qaida and its affiliates are determined.

"Today, on the eve of the ninth anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history, I can pledge to you this: we will do everything in our power to prevent attacks, and to prepare ourselves.”
