NPR’s Senior Vice President Ron Schiller was caught on an embarrassing videotape calling tea party members “seriously racist people” who have “hijacked” the Republican Party.

Conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe had two associates pose as members of a Muslim Brotherhood group that wanted to give NPR a $5 million donation.

On the tape released Tuesday, they tell Schiller and Betsy Liley, senior director of institutional giving, that they are glad the taxpayer-funded network airs the views of Hamas and Hezbollah, Politico reported.
Schiller has announced that he is leaving NPR to take a job at the Aspen Institute.

NPR media reporter David Folkenflik said: “We are appalled by the comments made by Ron Schiller in the video, which are contrary to what NPR stands for.”
