Oprah Heading to Iowa for Obama

TV host Oprah Winfrey is ready to join Sen. Barack Obama on the campaign stump -- and will soon join the Democratic presidential candidate in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Asked in New Hampshire on Tuesday if Oprah would be campaigning with him, Obama said, "First she’s coming to Iowa.” He quickly added that "we'll get her up here" -- referring to New Hampshire. "We’re just doing it one state at a time,” he said.

Oprah has made no secret of her strong support of Obama. She virtually kicked off his campaign during a 2006 October appearance on her show, in which she told her audience: "My guest today is a shining example of what is possible if you live your life with fierce hope.”

The appearance not only generated huge buzz — it catapulted Obama’s then just-released book, "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream,” to the top of the best-seller lists.

In September of this year, she held a celebrity studded fundraiser at her Monecito, Calif. home for her favorite candidate raising more than $3 million.

Newsmax reported on the unique relationship between the TV talk show queen and the star senator in a special cover story "Obama & the Oprah Factor."
