Walker to Obama: Stay Out of State Business

President Barack Obama is intervening in Wisconsin’s policy debate, and the state’s GOP Gov. Scott Walker isn’t happy about it, Politico reports. Obama is taking the side of state employees, as Walker seeks to take away some of their collective bargaining rights in an effort to balance the budget.

walker, obama, wisconsin, businessInstead of intruding on a state’s rights as it seeks to correct its fiscal imbalance, Obama would do well to address the federal government’s own deficit, projected at $1.65 trillion for this year, Walker says. “I think we’re focused on balancing our budget,” he said on Fox News Friday morning. “It would be wise for the president and others in Washington to focus on balancing their budget, which they are a long ways from doing.”

Obama has deployed his political operation to support the public employees.
