Less than 24 hours before voters in Wisconsin’s 7th District choose a successor to former Rep. Sean Duffy, all signs point to Republicans retaining the seat with conservative State Sen. Tom Tiffany.

While no independent polls have been conducted on the special election, Badger State Republicans who spoke to Newsmax are universally confident Tiffany will triumph handily over liberal Democrat and Wausau School Board President Tricia Zunker.

“Tom will win because he respects the good sense of the people of his district way more than he trusts the unelected bureaucratic geniuses in Madison and Washington, D.C.,” Thiensville Village President and early Trump supporter Van Mobley predicted to us Monday morning.

A Tiffany win will be widely interpreted as a victory for President Trump, who endorsed the Republican hopeful on Twitter in April. Tiffany, in turn, mentions the president in nearly every speech and deploys Trump’s picture in his social media campaigning.

Considered one of the most conservative of legislators in Madison, Tiffany was an early supporter of former Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial Act 10, which gutted collective bargaining for public sector employees. In addition, Tiffany has fought for development and exploration in northern Wisconsin. The League of Conservation named him to its “dishonor roll,” which Tiffany proudly displayed in his office.
