Biden Pressed on Border Problems – They're Trump's Fault!

President Biden assured us during last week's press conference who to blame as hundreds of thousands of low-wage undocumented Democrat voters flood across America's southern border.

And besides, who really regards this to be any sort of true crisis anyway?

Southern Border Wall Not Needed

Speaking to a South Carolina rotary club in November 2006, Joe Biden once touted his support for the Secure Fence Act — a bill also supported by then-Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — that authorized 700 miles of double-layered fence on the border through more than a billion dollars in appropriations.

Biden then spoke about jailing employers who hire "illegals," said sanctuary cities shouldn't be allowed to violate federal law, and argued a fence was needed stop "tons" of drugs coming into the country from "corrupt Mexico."

But that was then; this is now.

On his first day in office, President Biden signed an executive order to end Trump's nearly 500 miles of new wall construction … about a month short of completion time caused by Democrat lawsuit delays.

The Surge Was Actually Trump's Fault

Biden said that the border surge was caused by bad circumstances in countries because Trump didn't fund aid programs to address root causes of why people are leaving.

The surge was instead prompted by President-elect Joe Biden's promise to reverse many of Trump's policies on border security and immigration, including ending the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), which keeps migrants in Mexico as they await their political asylum hearings.

And didn't Joe Biden literally invite and welcome the border free-for-all surge during a 2019 primary debate? A video clip clearly shows him saying: "I would in fact make sure that there is immediately a surge to the border. They deserve to be heard. That's who we are. We're a nation that says, 'You want to flee, and you're fleeing oppression, you should come.'"

The Border Caravan Jam Is Mexico's Fault

According to Biden, the border caravan "problem" (not a "crisis") is "because Mexico won't take them (families and adult individuals) back … We're in negotiations with the President of Mexico. I think we're going to see that change. They should all be going back."

Mexico is no longer taking migrants back because Biden tore up Trump's agreement which had established a "stay in Mexico policy" and arranged for Mexico to station 28,000 soldiers to secure their side of the border.

Trump's border policy was working. Biden invited the problem, but he continues to take no responsibility. He reestablished Obama's "catch-and-release" policy.

Anyway, the Surge Was "Normal"

"Truth of the matter," Biden said, is that "nothing has changed. As many people came before the pandemic in the Trump administration. It happens every single solitary year."

In reality, the number of undocumented immigrants apprehended crossing the southern border last February, more than 100,000, was the highest total for that month in 12 years. It was also the highest for any single month total since Trump was elected in November 2016.

Addressing a "difficult" situation at the border, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas predicts that the U.S. will reach the highest number of people apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border in two decades.

Trump Separated, Caged and Starved Children

During the third Democratic debate, then-candidate Joe Biden claimed that, unlike the Trump administration, "We didn't lock people up in cages, we didn't separate families."

If that wasn't bad enough, during last week's press conference, President Biden said: "if an unaccompanied child ends up at the border, we're not just going to let them starve to death and stay on the other side, no previous administrations did either, except Trump."

First, as reported by CNN, the Obama-Biden administration did in fact separate families on a case-by-case basis, such as when adult parents were suspected of other crimes. The administration also placed children in structures later labeled as cages which came to be attributed — along with Obama-era images — to the Trump administration.

President Trump signed an executive order reversing his administration's earlier policy of separating children from their parents at the border and allowing families to be detained together.

Biden's charges are egregiously unfair to our nation's dedicated and compassionate border agents, and the treatment conditions of detainees under the Trump administration were always highly transparent to the press.

A Crowded COVID Crisis

Whereas the Trump administration utilized emergency health authority under Title 42 of the U.S. Code to turn away aliens at the border, under a blanket exemption, the Biden administration's catch and release policy is releasing many hundreds of illegal alien unaccompanied children who have tested positive for COVID-19 into neighborhoods near you.

With 17,000 children in custody now — and as many as 690 children currently crowded in pods designed for 80 — these are super-spreader facilities not only for kids, but also for as many as 1,500 border control agents who have become infected by the virus.

Cases of Transparent Biden Hypocrisy

A Biden press conference reporter who visited a customs and border protection facility in Donna, Texas, with minors packed into windowless pods at 1,556% capacity asked when the condition will be fixed.

Blaming his predecessor for not anticipating the Biden surge problem, he answered: "So, we're building back up the capacity that should have been maintained and built upon that Trump dismantled. It's going to take time."

Another reporter asked how soon journalists will be able to have access to the facilities. "We've obviously been allowed to be inside one, but we haven't seen the facilities in which children are packed together to really give the American people a chance to see that. Will you commit to transparency on this issue?"

The president answered: "I will commit to transparency, as soon as I am in a position to be able to implement what we're doing right now."

Biden added: "One of the reasons I haven't gone down [to the border], my chief folks have gone down, is I don't want it to become the issue."

"And just to be clear," the reporter asked, "how soon will that be Mr. President?

His answer: "I don't know, to be clear."

And that pretty much sums everything up.
