Government Agendas Drive Climate 'Science'

There is no end to agenda-driven government and environmental activist claims based upon speculative theories, contrived data, and demonstrably false computer modeling predictions that we are experiencing a known human-caused climate crisis.

The solutions, of course, are to abandon fossil fuel use in favor of heavily subsidized “free” and “renewable” alternatives; to expand the growth and overreach of energy regulatory agencies; to reward university departments that bend objectivity to secure research grants; to justify donations to environmental activist lobbies; and to enrich a host of politicians, prophets, and profiteers who cash in on “save the world” hype to fill campaign coffers and personal bank accounts.

Junk science-premised guilt and fear also serves to channel lots of taxpayer money to U.N. handouts in restitution for our unfair fossil-fueled prosperity. As U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) official Ottmar Edenhofer advised in 2010: “ . . . one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth . . . ”

Or as U.N. climate chief Christina Figueres candidly remarked, the true aim of the much-touted Paris climate agreement was “to change the [capitalist] economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”

Royal Society of Chemistry Fellow Dr. Leslie Woodcock has referred to the international climate alarm lobby as a very costly “do-good” industry. He told Britain’s Yorkshire Post: “If you talk to real scientists who have no political interests, they will tell you there is nothing in global warming. It’s an industry which creates vast amounts of money for some people.”

And why are these scams so successful? As Woodcock explains: “ . . . you can’t blame people with no science education for wanting to be seen to be good citizens who care about their grandchildren’s future and the environment.”

It’s particularly disturbing when frightening scientific misinformation is trumpeted by high government officials who we should expect to trust. For example, when as President Obama recently stated, “My top science advisor, John Holdren, periodically will issue some chart or report or graph in the morning meetings, and they’re terrifying.”

That “top science adviser” is the very same John Holdren who coauthored a book with Paul Ehrlich in 1977 titled “Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," which explored measures a government might take to limit population growth, and defended the constitutionality of compulsory abortion and sterilization — a topic reopened at the Copenhagen climate change meetings in 2009. In 1986, Holdren declared that global warming could cause the deaths of 1 billion people by 2020.

Nobel Prize winner for physics and former Obama scientific supporter, Dr. Ivar Giaever, emphasized his dissent on manmade climate alarm during a speech at the July 2015 Nobel Laureate Conference in Landau, Germany. Referring to the president’s warning that, “no challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change," he called it a “ridiculous statement," and characterized global warming as a “new religion.”

Giaever continued: “I say this to Obama: Excuse me, Mr. President, but you’re wrong. Dead wrong.”He added: “I think Obama is a clever person, but he gets bad advice. Global warming is all wet."

Characterizing global warming as “basically a non-problem," he advised: “Just leave it alone and it will take care of itself. It is almost very hard for me to understand why almost every government in Europe — except for Polish government — is worried about global warming. It must be politics."

Meanwhile, as Ivar Giaever observes, “The facts are that in the last 100 years we have measured the temperatures it has gone up 0.8 degrees and everything in the world has gotten better.” He concludes: “So far we have left the world in better shape than when we arrived, and this will continue with one exception — we have to stop wasting huge, I mean huge amounts of money on global warming."

Such pseudoscience does greatest injustice to those who can least afford it. These penalties come in forms of regulatory environmental and energy policies which drive up fuel and electricity costs, food prices, federal debt and monetary inflation.

President Eisenhower warned about just such a politically-corrupted, agenda-driven, federally-beholden science-industrial complex; along with a military-industrial complex in his 1961 farewell address.

As he stated: “The prospect of the nation’s scholars by federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present — and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of scientific-technological elite.”

Grave consequences of the federal scientific industrial complex that Eisenhower warned about are no longer mere prospects. It has become a very costly agenda-driven “do-good” industry that went terribly bad.
