So much for playing defense with the sharks this summer!
In Nova Scotia this weekend at the annual Shark Scramble competition, fishermen flipped the script and went on the offense. Boats went out for several days of fishing and returned to port in Yarmouth with 46 big sharks. The largest, 347 pounds, was caught by Chris Cushing.
For those wondering what happens next, the sharks are going to be used for various medical and environmental testing. The additional good news is they won’t be trolling the beaches for swimmers. Authorities on the dock said that a seal was found in one shark and feathers in another. They varied in age from nine to 12 years. The sharks, that is!
