It became obvious over the weekend that Democrats and mainstream media outlets are covering for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
Former Biden staffer Tara Reade’s claims of sexual assault against Biden when he was a U.S. senator gained corroboration Friday afternoon, when The Intercept published an Aug. 11, 1993 telephone interview on CNN’s "Larry King Live," allegedly with Reade’s mother.
She called into the show to state that her daughter was having a problem with "a prominent senator" for whom she worked, but couldn’t get it resolved working through official Capitol Hill channels.
"I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington?" the woman, calling from San Luis Obispo, California asked.
"My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him."
Although the caller didn’t identify herself by name, the call occurred shortly after the date Reade was allegedly assaulted, and property records indicate that Reade’s mother, now deceased, lived in San Luis Obispo county at the time.
Despite the bombshell report, not a single sitting U.S. Democratic senator was willing to acknowledge Reade’s allegations against the former vice president, The Daily Caller reported.
Moreover, many of those senators, as well as former Biden rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, voiced their support for Biden the day after The Intercept published its startling report.
Said Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., "I'm proud to join my friend @JoeBiden in recognizing #SOULSaturday to thank all of the brave men and women across our country working on the frontlines to help all of us weather this storm. Thank you so much for all you're doing for our families, our communities, and our country."
Former Rep. Robert Francis "Beto” O’Rourke tweeted, "Joining @JoeBiden in recognizing all who step up to serve."
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., wrote, "On #SOULSaturday, I’m joining @JoeBiden and thanking our essential workers who have always been the backbone of our nation’s response in times of crisis — and that’s even more true during the coronavirus pandemic."
Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., tweeted, "Today I’m joining my friend @JoeBiden and people across our nation who are coming together to take part in #SOULSaturday."
Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., tweeted, "I'm so grateful to be teaming up with @JoeBiden to recognize all of the heroes fighting for us on the front lines."
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., wrote, "Today, I’m teaming up with @Sannehfdn, Founder @TonySanneh & @TeamJoe to celebrate #SOULSaturday."
Unlike Reade’s allegations, those of Christine Blasey Ford against Justice Brett Kavanaugh lacked credibility or corroboration. Ford provided the names of four witnesses; none of them supported Ford’s claims. Nonetheless, these same Democrats claimed to believe her.
Sen. Coons said after the Kavanaugh confirmation that "we must show that at the highest levels of power women are respected when they bring forward allegations of sexual assault."
"Beto" O’Rourke claimed that the allegations made by Ford were "very troubling," whereas there were "troubling inconsistencies in the nominee's testimony.”
Sen. Warren tweeted, "I still believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. And like the man who appointed him, Brett Kavanaugh should be impeached."
Sen. Harris claimed that although she would listen to both Ford and Kavanaugh’s testimony, she claimed to have confidence in Ford’s story, saying, "I believe her."
Sen. Booker called Ford "heroic," and told her, "You are speaking truth that this country needs to understand, how we deal with survivors who come forward right now is unacceptable."
Sen. Klobuchar told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos that "I strongly oppose [Kavanaugh], based on . . . the allegations that we are hearing more about today.” She added, "My concern here is that the process was a sham."
But it’s not just congressional Democrats — it’s also media outlets, which, for the most part have been silent on the increasingly believable Reade allegations.
CNN appears especially guilty. Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk observed, "CNN produced nearly 700 stories about Christine Blasey Ford’s baseless accusations against Brett Kavanaugh." However, "they have run ONE story about Tara Reade, Joe Biden’s accuser."
He then asked, "What exactly happened to believe all women?"
But it gets worse. Fox News reported Sunday that their the Aug. 11 "Larry King Live" episode is no longer listed on the streaming service catalog.
Coincidence? Not according to Media Research Center founder and president Brent Bozell, who concluded "CNN Is Colluding with Biden to Bury Tara Reade Story"
But perhaps the most damning statement is one from Biden himself. In 2018 during the heated Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, Biden said, "For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts."
His rule doesn’t count when he’s the accused. Nor does it count for fellow Democrats and mainstream media outlets.
