Jeb Bush told supporters on Monday during a conference call that he is making solid progress on his early campaign efforts, noting that "my life is totally focused on this," the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The likely GOP presidential candidate, who is fully exploring a run, said he would seek support "beyond traditional conservative constituencies," the Times wrote of his comments.

The former Florida governor told associates, according to the Times, that he would release a series of emails he wrote as governor, designed to showcase his deep engagement on multiple policy issues, which he outlined to those supporters on his call.

"An interesting feature of all this is how little people know about what we accomplished together during my eight years as governor. Many of you played such a critical role in helping transform the state. I'm really proud of the conservative record we had in cutting taxes," he said.

Bush, who is writing an e-book, according to the Los Angeles Times, added: "Even — for the nerdy guys and gals on the phone — even achieving a triple-A bond rating. It still warms my heart. Creating 1.4 million net new jobs by building a better business climate. Reforming the things that were broken, particularly our schools. All of that story we can begin to tell people and I'm really excited about it."

Bush has opened a narrow lead among potential Republican candidates, according to a new Bloomberg/Saint Anselm New Hampshire poll of voters released Sunday.
